Bryan joined the Canadian Forces in 1963 and graduated from the Royal Military College in 1967 and married April the same summer. They moved 17 times during Bryan’s career as a combat arms officer in the Forces and have raised three wonderful children, Mark, Janine and Curtis.
Bryan retired from the Forces in 1998 in the rank of Major-General. His last appointment was Commander, Land Forces Central Area. In this capacity he was in command of all army forces in Ontario including bases, brigades and units both regular and reserve. There were about 14,000 people including military personnel and civilian employees under his jurisdiction. He was also the designated Joint Force Commander for any Canadian Forces operation in the province where aid to civilian authorities was required. In 1998 during the massive ice storm, Bryan was the designated commander of Joint Task Force Ottawa which covered Eastern Ontario and a portion of Quebec from Hull extending down the Ottawa River. Bryan worked as a senior executive in a software company until 2009.
Bryan and April have followed God though out their life, and started attending Catch The Fire Toronto (formerly Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship) in 1995 during the Toronto Blessing revival. They hosted cell groups, taught intercession and helped with many Encounter Weekends, School of Champions, strategic planning and conferences. In 2010, Bryan became the Executive Director of Catch The Fire and remained in that position until 2017.
Bryan is a now on the board of Catch The Fire Ottawa and is on the board of Catch The Fire World.
