From Roots to Fruits
From Gunilla Glover this past week at the Fatherheart B school, “1 Corinthians 13 and Galatians 5 are not to do lists, but descriptions of who God is.”
God is patient. God is kind. God does not envy. God does not boast. God is not proud. God does not dishonour others. God is not self-seeking. God is not easily angered. God keeps no record of wrongs. God does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. God always protects. God always trusts. God always hopes. God always perseveres.
God is love. God is joy. God is forbearance, God is kindness. God is goodness. God is faithfulness. God is gentleness. God is self-control.
If I struggle to love another or have one of the fruits of the Spirit, I need to experience more of the Father’s love for me and through me. Fruits come from roots. The root is love. HE IS LOVE. It is who He is. It is more than what He does. It is His very nature.
We love because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19
We can love when we have been loved. The more I experience His love for me, the more loving I become. This was one of the many truths that stood out to me last week at the B school.
Grace, grace, grace to you!
